Thank you for bringing the clip to my attention Motley! However if the blog is so irrelevant why even complain? Fact is there are many quality clips on here that get missed, I put that down to it not obligatory to be a professional researcher to browse the contents of the 'ville! Not being rude but maybe if 'dwinters' had taken more time and care in making a display of the upload it might have attracted more of the attention u consider it deserves

         

whoa, wait a second. glamour/performance videos have become irrelevant? when? on what planet?

mot, understand that antville's crowd loves quirky indie videos, or videos that borrow from quirky indie videos. a cassie single is never going to find love here (and to put it in perspective, most of fincher's videos wouldn't have gotten love here either).

         

@ budget, well there's a reason Madonna works with megaforce and MIA with Gavras. Being pretty, glamorous and have beautiful cinematography is not enough..

         

Madonna and MIA have completely different MO's than most pop stars (there's a reason why Gavras and Megaforce haven't done any other pop videos). Like I said, this site has it's tastes (and there's nothing wrong with that!), but directors who specialize in pop videos would be silly to cater to antville's narrow tastes.

budget is so in love with the idea that proper pop promos dont get no love from the ville, to the point where she ignores the fact that even some performance videos are appreciated here: bjork,kanye,madonna, niki minaj, all these artists were aplauded by the antvilleans at some point

ps: this video is formulaic and the lights fall flat, this aint a video for soulsavers by hiro murai, its just another pop video, what is it to like about it

         

i think the ville likes pop videos... when they look like indie videos. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, every website has an audience, and every audience has tastes. I'm just saying that if Motley is wondering why this video is under-appreciated, he's looking for love in the wrong corner of the internet.

         

lady gaga, jay z, beyonce, they all got ville awards even if their videos looked like anything but indie videos

but, yes, i hear you - the ville does have a thing for quirky no budget indie videos; for proper pop promos youve got promonews

         

Sorry, not trying to ruffle any feathers. Just think it's important not to assume that the ville is somehow an objective arbitrator of music video taste (which is like, duh, but y'know?).

         

The ville is what you make of it!

The song is catchy, but this is basically the pop performance version of Taste in Men.

..which is my main complaint with Vimeo/Promo News vids: They're all aesthetic, little substance.
