tu m'etonnes mais bon la fouine aussi a des gros budgets et ses clips sont nazes. là c'est plutôt très bien joué.

         

ouai, c'était comme un short film. le gangsta rap français je le kiffe grave - seyfu, booba, seth gueko, et surtout rim'k le grand parrain :D. mais à quelques exceptions (y compris a chaque jour suffit la peine par nass beal) les vidéos sont horribles. pourqoui y'a pas une video sur "call of bitume"?

ps: n-am zis ca exclusiv multumita bugetului arata asa de bine videoul, dar cu siguranta un buget sanatos e de preferat unuia de 3 lei. clipurile alea ale lui oxmo puccino ies mai usor cind sint mai multi bani la mijloc, nu?

         

les clips de sefyu > * molotov 4 de nath canguilhem c'est énorme. et le dernier dans les carcasses d'avion était marrant ;) pas grand monde qui ose ce genre de conneries en france.

oxmo we did 3 videos together. the most I got was 20k for artiste. sucre pimenté was 4k (!) and pam pa nam, that we released yesterday, was around 15k. maybe his budgets were good during the golden era but now... love him tho! not a lot of artists i'd be happy to make a 4k video for ;)

regarding pam pa nam, it depends how you're spending your money. 2 days of shoot in the city is expensive. we have a lot of different locations. maybe it doesnt look as cool as a concept video shot for half the budget, but you can't make a video like this for 10k.

         

oh, if it was a 2-day shoot, then it all explains but ive done this for 10k (and the director pocketed about 1/3 off the budget) 1 day shoot, several locations

i ve always admired wedding directors. just think of the footage they must be getting

i also pretty much appreciate the kitten video directors on youtube. just think how difficult it is to work with cats

encore une chose: je pense que la vidéo d'oxmo "l'artiste" est de bon goût, very much in keeping with oxmo's elegant approach to rap. and i wouldnt want to sound like a cliche, but it also feels very "french"

         

they say the worst is working with kids and dogs. maybe cats are a charm !

i'm glad you liked 'artiste', I had a blast making a video like this for someone like oxmo. but is it french ? I wouldn't know. i think 'pam pa nam' is very french. artiste is just very "arty" i guess. almost queer in a sense. maybe that's what you call 'french' ;)

         

havent workked with kids, but cats are a pain in the ass; they dont respond to commands unless they want to; and even so, you can only keep them on the set for few hours; and its better to have several identical looking cats on the set, one for the purring shot, one for the eating shot, and so on. ve also worked wit dogs, they're well trained and obey the commands but you do need to have the dog trainer always there, as only they can "direct" the dogs. enfin, by french we mean arty. and yeah, queer too

         

so maybe the asshole who called me a nounce in the other post was just a fan of my work...

oh i know i'm just fucking around. just never heard that insult before.

         

if you watch prison docos on nat geo you'll find it there. it stands for "not on normal communal/courtyard excercise", "not of normal criminal element", since pedophiles are considered to be deviant even among the other deviants; it describes inmates not allowed on gen pop, because they're convicted child molesters and consequently at risk of being assaulted or killed by the other prisoners; however, it also means "dumb" or "stupid", and i'm pretty sure he used it in the latter sense

         

         

great montage, but i think booba's vid is one of the few where they don't abuse the back to camera shots. i think it's the match cuts that make the difference. plus, i think its used wisely, esp in the last shot, where it also serves dramatic purposes. also, by not showing his face, you make his story universal. le racaille qui est arrive du bled en france, mais quand il y est arrive, la vie lui a mis une claque.
