The first year i have no idea who any of kevathens best new director nominees are (and none of their videos are nominated?).
Avital did the wonderful suite for Autre ne Veut: World War Pt. 2, Panic Room, and Age of Transparency. She also did this, and is repped by Partizan.
Grant Singer is the hip-hop director of the moment, having done work for Skrillex, Skrillex and Pusha T, Vic Mensa / Kanye, and the Weekend a bunch. Hip-hop and R&B.
And Irrum is my fave new director, having done work with Farao (twice), CAIROBI, and Swim Deep.
Allie Avital used to be called Allie Avital Tsypin, and isn't the newest of directors, but I thought she's new enough to people to be nominated.
It's a close year, a ton of quality work out there, it's a shame no one seems to be around to enjoy it, antville-wise. Everyone's moved on from music video, apparently.
(Antville isn't the end-all of music video anymore, sadly. You have to consume a lot more than just one place. I started my own blog because I've never felt antville gave the whole story on music video.)
I'll be extending the date 7 days on Tuesday. Wish we had a turn-out besides myself.
Nevermind, this shit is d.e.a.d.
I'm not sure antville is 'winning' anymore. This place was nice for a while, but clearly it's not worth the work.
Anyway, the awards were a bust. C'est la vie!
Reminds me of our local union branch meetings.....Nowadays Kev every thing under pressure, no ones got time for Jack!
Nothing seems fresh I'm awaiting the next spark? :/
