The title track off Sean Price’s upcoming posthumous album, Imperius Rex, in which the late, great MC goes ape over a wild Alchemist beat. Keeping in line with the gorilla theme prevalent in much of his work, the rhymes and visuals are fittingly inspired, in part, by the iconic Planet of the Apes movie franchise. In the Steve Dabal and Josh Heineman-directed video, an animated P stars as “Caesar the leader,” proving that the self-proclaimed “ape,” as opposed to the lion, is truly king of the concrete jungle.
