Le Tigre: New Kicks
Peace Up, War Down!
The undeniably catchy minimalist electro-pop maestros of Le Tigre are lovers of New York. Who else has written a whole song about the Metrocard?
Their new track remembers the Anti-War protests in NYC, going back to the central park rally in October 2002 (I was there) and the massive Feb 15th 2003 protest that in many ways gave birth to Music for America. That was the one that drew millions around the world and all across the USA and which Bush dismissed as "a focus group."
You can't win, Bush has a better logo.
I can't even believe this is their first single. What a travesty this band has become.
AI: Bush has a better SLOGAN. If you've got a logo, please show!
My favorite of course is: "George W. Bush. Whatever it Takes."
It's infantile and naive, and completely affective with dumb america.
I was talking about the stickers they used all the time "BUSH/Cheney" "Kerry/edwards". They were big mistakes with the kerning in kerry's logo. A nasty empty space around the K. I've seen a page commenting that on computerlove.net. It sank in the deep web now i think.
