I've come to really hate all these after effects videos. All of them. What ever happened to live action? I know budgets are slashed (if at all available) nowadays but jesus, does that mean everyone has to do these Z space layered bore machines devoid of direction, concept, rhythm, and execution?

Dear dear lusk. there's room enough for everyone's ideas.
One explanation is that live action is way harder to do and organize and much more limiting than cg stuff. It's definitely better, but harder to pull off, particularly without budgets - and besides, you would still rip it to shreds anyways.
PS- Why don't you post some of your work?

Last year I recieved some money from a group of young independent investors to make a short film. We wrapped shooting mid summer and I've been in some form of post production since.
I'm currently piecing together an early and somewhat rushed narrative trailer of the piece (by request) and although it may have some compositing/vfx work - it's all live action. I promise that I will post it before month's end.

Sweet. Err, I mean hot shit! I'll trade you back. That isn't a challenge, but it so happens I just shot a project as well. It's a music vid. As soon as I'm done editing I'll post. Should be a couple weeks. It's the first music vid I've done. I expect you to hate it.
