Richard Coldicott -- I woz ere
this one falls to that "stop motion/aftereffects/no consept" gategory, and its not eaven a "real" musicvideo. and STILL it managed to make my day! im hoping you guys like it as much as i did. i think its very good clip and deserves to be posted here because its fun and original. what do you think? should i just delete it ;)
That was allright some good ideas in the animation. but there's no visible after effect, everything is analog and shot on a super8 or bad 16camera.
KROF: I think you missed the concept. In this nondescript garage, there's this weird territorail ritual/battle between paint graffiti and old school pochiorist post up style (a style still rampant in nyc - think faile or kaos). The posts were there first but here comes the paint!
I think the video was great. The music sounds too DJ Shadow ish but still has good flavor.
I would argue that a lot of the 'effects' were done in camera with some maybe slight cleanup/alterations in post. It could have been sharper editorially but it's enticing and strong all around.
Great in camera effects. Must have been horribly tedious to shoot. The end result I think was very worth it though. Lusk, I don't really know anything about graffiti, but I think that the concept was much simpler than that. The thing is called "I woz ere", so I figured that it was just someone trying to leave their mark and being constantly covered up. The paint was covering up other paint mostly.
lusk: hmm i dont know man. somehow to me those stickers in this one represent just basic graffiti (but just on stickers) eaven write is same on the wall and on the paper. ...love styles of faile! btw.
but i did felt that "territorail ritual/battle" in the part where black line runs away from the cover up paint. hularious :D
That was sick! Props to whoever made that! I think it was all done in camera too. The guy running was great and it really started to get good when ther lyrics said "let's all head for that cave" and the cave appeared. I would have liked to see more of that.
...The music was DJ shadow, at first anyways.
if someone cares just a flipbook in graffiti www.vkn.lv
yeah that was geat thanks
Hey lusk. i just discovered your trailer for "Paper Tigers". (Through the cunningham posts.) I like it. A lot. Nice work. I look forward to the full film.
JDUB: That's just an early teaser I put together for the DP. I'm working on a trailer now, which of course, I promise to post before month's end.
Nice one, sweet graff, smooth animation, like the tune too.
