This the first video from the very interesting Industrial Cool project. Sophie´s lips singing the tune are edited together with stills and filmed material from the Arlöv sugar refinery. No other elements are added. Just a typical recycling pictures project.

Industrial Cool

Industrial cool is a reinterpretation of former genres of industrial electronica/rock. These genres have been characterized by aggressivity and harsh ominous soundscapes. IC is instead an attempt at accentuating the potential beauty of industrial settings, partly by sonic recycling of sounds from factory milieus. In this way electronic music has the potential to alter our perception of the traditional industry. The old factory is about to become reenchanted.

IC1 is a forthcoming compilation-CD to be released on the Swedish label 23Hz. The compilation will contain various artists interpreting the concept of Industrial Cool. All tunes will be based on sonic key elements that have been recorded at The Arlöv sugar refinery in southern Sweden.

Contributing artists include, amongst others, these internationally renowned names: Håkan Lidbo, Lowfour, Scanner, Pheek, Tonne, Rechenzentrum, Sophie Rimheden, Apparat, Uniform and Jay Haze.
