-incidentally, for those of us on macs, i found an automator workflow that converts quicktime files for ipods:

Cool automator but, i must note that u need to create the folders in your user directory not the main library on your hard drive. :)

yeah I used QT7 pro on a PC to do this one.

Unfortunately, it doesn't resize the dv to 4:3 , meaning it will be letterboxed on the ipod.

My attempts to configure QT7 to to convert the file to 320x240 and yet remain ipod compatible have, as yet, not been successful.

There are other tools, such as backyard, that I haven't tried.

I have further discovered that one has to use the 'baseline' setting in QT7 to make ipod compatible video.
