Peter Gabriel "Sledgehammer", Stephen R. Johnson
Let's do this. Is this the best music video of all time? I think so, but I've heard rumors. Nominate yours here.

Videoville:Sledgehammer
nice player they did, yeah. still rocks. the DVD from Peter has some suprises too, there are other pearls but also very bad clips. sledgehammer is probably really one of the best ever, I still agree after rewatching it.
The nude Quicktime is here:
P.S. My personal best is Glazer's "Rabbit in your headlights" for U.N.K.L.E.
I agree, otaku. I feel like Stephen et al. just listened to every part of this song and created a jungle of imagery out of it, and yes with a bigger budget. They pack it full, in a Busby Berkeley-type extravaganza. Why can't a great video like this be done again? Why does Crooked Teeth fail (in some ways)?
Thanks, dek
classic.
Does anybody know Stephen's e-mail/phone? I'd love to see the treatment or learn more about this vid.
All right; if anybody wants the straight skinny about this or any other of the music Vids that I did for Peter, just contact me at Stephenare@Classicnet.net My Name is Stephen R. Johnson and I directed Sledgehammer and two others for Peter. Got lots of outakes, pics, etc. BTW - there was, in fact, no treatment; but there was a blueprint as opposed to a storyboard. I can explain in detail if anyone still cares to know. I also have the two audio taped creative sessions that I had at and with the Aardmans. Peter was not present - He was in the Canary Isles with his family.
