DJ Shadow, 'This Time (I'm Gonna Do It My Way)' [dir. Mykola Dosenko]
This video was made by a fan & selected by DJ Shadow in a contest. He said "The reason I like the video is because it looked like a skit on a Nintendo game from the '80s, and it really stuck close to the lyrics in the song."
wmv here.
www.youtube.com too.
Is anyone else annoyed by competitions like:
"Make a video for us, and if we choose it, we'll give you a thousand pounds!"
It makes me want to snap my desk in two everytime I come accross one.
Lets get loads of hungry/desperate young creative things to toil and toil for us, and then we will pick one out of the millions of submissions and make one persons day whilst breaking a thousand hearts.
John Stuart Mill turns in his grave.
Am I mistaken, or was there already a video for this track? -j
I agree with the initial estimate Sully. But is it not these poor soul's decision? And who is to say said submission might not be turned, one way or another, into something more for someone else? I cringe a bit, but would JSM really hate this? It is quite egalitarian really on one level, especially considering the economic class ensared.
