Arcade Fire- 'My Body Is A Cage' (Unofficial!)
The Arcade Fire have decided to not make any videos for their new album (the swines!) so I guess we get a raft of youtubers rejigging old footage to the new tunes. Here is a particularly good example if you ask me, even though it pays no real attention to the lyrics...
Apologies if this is not what antville is all about, who-ever moderates can delete this if they like...

No official videos?!?! but this is silly. I was hoping to see Arcade Fire in full glory!!
they received a videofact grant for "no cars go" recently, so i don't think that's true.
This video is better than any video they've ever made and one of the best (if not the best) rippomatics I've seen on this site.
"even though it pays no real attention to the lyrics..."
Nope. I say it's right on.
i agree with lusk, one of the best fan-made videos of this type i've seen.
This is utterly fantastic. What an amazing movie and what an amazing song.
good stuff; on a par with t lincoln's punks in the beerlight, indeed, musically a better fit.
Yeah this worked great, had my attention the whole track
Nice Job J Tyler
basically i love arcade fire. and you.
perfect
I tell you what I like about it... the measured cutting pace. I like the fact that the shots are held for such a ballsy length of time. The performances are awesome and there is such emotion in every shot that you can just hold on them. It shows the benefits of great performances, story and photography. If you have all those, you don't have to apologetically cut it to bits in order to make it interesteding. You can hold, hold, hold. I find it very powerful. I don't think I have seen a promo cut like this for a long time, and I really, really liked it.
wow, that was great. you had great material to work with but you really did it justice. it's really fitting with the song.
also, how did you get youtube to look so good?
Hey everyone. I appreciate all of the compliments. Honored to see the video made it to Antville.
Here's a higher-res version of the video if you want a better look: www.jtylercity.net
Oh and regarding justjoan's question... I used H.264 compression with AAC audio. Nice quality for the small file size. I was surprised too.
