Why no Hot Chip “I Feel Better”? It was mentioned by 7 people.
@ Kozoru: Hot Chip's "I Feel Better" was mentioned by 7 people in 4 or 5 different categories. That's why it didn't make top 5 in any category.
beautiful work, ants - videoville pages, pictures & all; chapeau!
Jeppe, you may want to have a word with your brother...

@antville awards 2010, it was mentioned 3 times for the Most Fun Video nomination--it's as much as Reggie Watts' “Fuck Shit Stack”.
you're right Kozoru. In case of a tie, it comes down to which video got the nominations first. there were a lot of ties this year, some of you only nominated 1 artist by category, sometimes categories were left blank… it's not perfect, i know. maybe next year new rules should be created.
The most interesting thing so far: Andreas Nilsson is running away with director of the year despite the fact that none of his videos are nominated in any of the categories.
@antville awards 2010, I just don't get this “getting the nominations first” rule. Much more people actually loved Hot Chip's video than Reggie Watts' one. Why've you solved the case simply assuming votes of antvillers who voted earlier should weigh more?
That's just not fair. Sure thing is the rules are bollocks then.
@budget, for example I nominated him as best director but none of his videos because he's been trying hard and's created a lot of ok and even good videos but still none of them is a masterpiece after all.
Didn't know this was a "UK Music video-site".
Austrian it is, isn't it. Or all-over-the-world.
Write-in votes are welcome, no?
kays: the 'ville is erewhon.
kozo/ant.awards: the rules have always been pretty makeshift, that's the nature of this beast. p serafinowicz will be surely be noted as the great ROBBED of this year's edition.
Kozoru, if much more people loved Hot Chip's video why didn't it get more votes? Some videos got 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 nominations in only one category. Why would it be more fair in case of a tie to push forward the one YOU voted for? A lot of my favs were left behind too and i'm not whining about it. Like i said, maybe next year everybody can start thinking about the awards earlier and present new ideas for rules, categories and whatnot. And volunteer to help to get this done too, it's no easy task i tell you.
this.
Koz, as much as I love these awards, it feels like the voting has a lot more to do with intangible perceptions of a band/directors "brand" than an objective evaluation of a video's quality. Take it with a grain of salt and enjoy the ride!
@antville awards 2010, in the first place I'm against pushing forward only one video in case of a tie. There was a lot of cases of six nominees through the past awards.
As you said it was mentioned by 7 people but in different categories--that's how it is more loved than a video that was mentioned only once beside the “Most Fun Video” category.
Kozoru, like i said there were a lot of ties this year. Keeping everyone in would mean to have 10 or more finalists in some categories. I'm really sorry Hot Chip's video isn't up there, believe me i have nothing to gain to keep them out or in. It was a decision made giving the circumstances. That being said, i conclude my participation on this subject. Despite your disappointment, I hope you enjoy the awards as they stand. Thank you for the feedback.
The Suburbs is getting more votes than Born Free for Video of the Year?
What a joke!
did no one see the video for flying lotus - zodiac shit? blows everything else in animation away lol
Looks good! Except for the blatant Jeppe vote stuffing (I think he should definitely be disqualified). And while I like "The Suburbs" fine it's kind of an odd choice for video of the year. Maybe cause it's like Spike Jonze's 22nd best video. But then again, he is Spike Jonze.
Btw I have a (unsolicited) write-in vote for Best Cinematography from Daniel Pearl that I'm sending to @brigs/@antville awards 2010.
more vote stuffing encouraging:
twitter.com
but w/ 39 followers maybe not such a big deal?
But then again, last time I checked 2 days ago it was in 3rd or 4th place; now it's in first.
Meh. Rad Omen got bupkus! I'll make you Antvillers believers yet!
paging david wilson... white courtesy telephone, please...
so kolstrup, morgan and wilson all should be disqualified?
@brigs I think so. Otherwise this thing will just descend into a popularity contest every year: Whoever has the most twitter followers will win.
WE NEED TO SEND A MESSAGE.
Was the David Wilson one doing well before he posted?
Atlas Air was winning as of last night. (er, 15hrs ago)
Here's another one:
www.facebook.com
though not really a message of "Please vote for" nor direct links. But it does explain how Danakil's Milk Teeth got a surge in votes.
Don't disqualify in case of Wilson he was prob just excited to be nominated. The video deserves it. Wow it's like CIA out here. Jesus.
Now if it's a popularity contest ect then it's understood.
Who the fuck is Nick Turner?
El Guincho should have been video of the year.
Polls are officially closed! Thanks everyone.
