Director Tobias Perse has made an interesting stop-motion video for Sam Bisbee's song "You Are Here."
It's available as Windows Media or Quicktime.

A swift, elegant salute to Perse's video. It's that unusual idea that seems to understand itself (ideas at all being rare to this form) and announce itself. Great song, great video. My hat is off.lucienp., April 24, 2004 8:00:06 AM CEST
Perse's video is f-cking piece of work. A truly gorgeous, oddly gentle creation, so appropriate. Usually I stick my middle finger up, high and proud, but instead I'm just gonna watch that mini tour de force tear of Madame Perses. Well done to director, well done by band.lucienp., April 24, 2004 8:01:32 AM CEST
Oh, if anyone knows how to get hold of Perse, I'd love to email her. Thanks.john train, April 24, 2004 8:06:38 AM CEST
Perse vid- This is such a simple idea realized in perfect manner. I agree with what guy up top said about this understanding itself inside to out. The tonal quality of it, very nice. I will remember this ghastly lovely creature crawling out of its hole on all fours. 5stars, boysjohn train, April 24, 2004 8:07:16 AM CEST

The SamBisbee video, as I see it, should be packed into a time capsul and blasted into the past. The director with it. Back to the stone age with both of them. They deserve to relearn the basics, while surviving on fauna and the occasional trilobyte.ronson, April 26, 2004 1:11:49 AM CEST
well, blast me back in the past with the director and sam bisbee, ok? it's a very cool video. new to antville. this is an incredible site!funalison, April 26, 2004 3:36:09 AM CEST
Easy Ronson, keep those cowlicks down. I read in Le Figaro's new technology section (Le Figaro: BuonoTech), that the video cost upwards of £60,000. A ridiculous sum for a hi-8 flipbook. Still want the wrongway time warp?haircut, April 28, 2004 10:44:58 AM CEST
£60000 is not enough! Let's go Sebald, Ver Erat!ournameismud, April 28, 2004 3:59:48 PM CEST
Interestingly enough, there's an Australian artist called Sia who has a new clip out with exactly the same concept. And I mean EXACTLY, I thought I was watching this clip for the first thirty seconds. Though the two came out too close to each other to talk plagarism.mi.g, April 30, 2004 5:13:31 AM CEST
So, I like Purse's video. Actually, I like it quite much. I have worked many times in this form, and find it quite a lovely insect. After many trouble I located this video by Sia told us by mud. These two videos have not much in common. Using a photo and then some form of cgi under the greater idea of photo idea is not new at all. This is what Sia video is. Whereas this video of Purse's is all rules, really just one rule (photographs) from which it not deviates. Why am I writing this, when you are not here? I don't know. In the spirit of correctness, I suppose.el jefe, May 3, 2004 2:45:19 AM CEST
Perse's video was all too obviously shot on the cheap but manages to look far better than the cost .. Unlike the sausage maker's conundrum, in this case the product hides nothing. We see all of the ingredients as they are being added to the casing, down to the director's stubby nicotine stained fingers trying to pick up a still photograph. Despite this an impressive start. Perhaps next time Perse will beef up the budget.sausageisgood, May 3, 2004 6:36:05 AM CEST
el jefe: you know not what you write. I read perse's video more expenseive that 30,000 yen (jp). This is not cheap in this is genre, chief. I bet you drive an SUV, the way you write!!!!!the bank, May 6, 2004 8:45:31 AM CEST
Yes let's all beef right upslash1, August 23, 2005 8:00:42 PM CEST
i wonder if the video was inspired by the Sia video?bugsalot, October 19, 2005 7:07:51 PM CEST
Expectations have a way of constantly wearing us down. However, this video seems the exception.
