Blur+Sharpen
my regrets for not posting a link, but since there are alot of people posting their own work on this site I figured I would post this open call for a screening series in Los Angeles for new Digital Avant-Garde work.
Call for Submissions: Blur+Sharpen Digital Screening Series
Blur + Sharpen is a monthly screening series at the University of Southern California, dedicated to showcasing recent, experimental digital media art that hovers at the intersection of design, motion graphics, animation and video.
We are currently seeking submissions for our Fall 2005 screenings. This season, we will be presenting a series of theme-driven programs of short-form work that explore questions of hybridity, synthesis, space, time, bodies, and computationally enabled aesthetics.
Blur+Sharpen was founded in 2001 and is currently sponsored by the Institute for Multimedia Literacy at USC’s School of Cinema-Television. The series is co-curated by Steve Anderson, Peter Oleksik and Holly Willis and is free and open to the public. In addition to having their work seen by an active community of faculty, students and media makers, accepted contributors will receive a copy of the program disk and have shipping/duplication costs reimbursed. There is no fee to submit work to Blur+Sharpen.
Please submit work on DVD, NTSC miniDV or VHS to:
Blur+Sharpen Institute for Multimedia Literacy University of Southern California 746 W. Adams Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90049 213-743-1933
If you would like to have your submission returned, please include a postage-paid, self-addressed envelope.
The submission deadline for the first program is October 15, 2005, however materials received after that date will be considered for future screenings. Works no longer than 20 minutes are preferred; longer submissions will be considered.
