The Balance Company are celestial consultants. They employ melancholic bureaucrats with an evolved sense of compassion to watch over us. Like a troupe of touring players, theatre company Highway Diner convert random objects into props and act out the disasters, the discord, the poignant romance of the human enterprise while Swimmer One look on, singing the song of the ‘good employee’.
Swimmer One and Highway Diner had previously worked together on a live show. The idea for this video was to spend a day working out what they could do visually with a new song and I was there to film the development and finished pieces.
