LOKIXXIMO "Imaginate" - Official Music Video

LOKIXXIMO "Imaginate" - Official Music Video Director: Andre

Lokixximo’s unstoppable work ethic secured him the #1 position in the MTV TR3'S Dame un Break national competition, where his music video for "Noche Europea" hit the Top 10 Latin videos.

NEW Release "Imaginate" - the Official Music Video

Lokixximo is the stage name of beloved independent artist Argenis Gomez, a well-known rapper, record producer, and song composer. This multi-talented Dominican artist has made a huge name for himself in the Latin, urban, and world-music genres with some of his greatest hits including “Noche Europea”, “Yo No Cojo Esa”, "Que Vas Hacer", (Latin Billboard Charts) and the smash hit “Ella Ta Bien" which crossed the artist over into the Latin, DJ, and Dance Club charts worldwide.

Lokixximo’s unstoppable work ethic secured him the #1 position in the MTV TR3'S Dame un Break national competition, where his music video for "Noche Europea" hit the Top 10 Latin videos.

During the MTV TR3's Dameunbreak.com competition, a new version of "Noche Europea" was remixed with four-time American Grammy winner and eight-time Latin Grammy Awards producer and mixer Sebastian Krys. As the music video debuted on MTV Tr3's top 20 countdown, Lokixximo continued to solidify his position within the realm of Latin Music and was featured in major newspapers such as El Diario Libre, El Nuevo Herald and El Especialito.

Lokixximo also received an award at the Premios Fox Music USA Award ceremony in Houston, Texas for ‘Best Latin Urban Soloist artist’, an indication that he is truly one of hardest working artists on the scene and enabling him to achieve notoriety as a ‘underground Latin urban legend’ worldwide.

MAKING OF THE MUSIC VIDEO "IMAGINATE":

The music video was filmed at Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto at St. Lucy’s Church in the Bronx, NY. “This location is very special to me because my first music video was filmed at this church. Also, at that time my daughter and my godson were not even born yet, and now years later, to have my whole family to be part of the video, it is a stamp in time both in my career and in their lives. I feel like I'm at a stage in my life where I want and need to speak to the current state of the world and the pain that people suffer on a day-to-day basis. This song and video are very special to me.” -Lokixximo

BEHIND "IMAGINATE":

"The song "Imaginate" took my entire life to be able to write. I wanted to describe all the pain that I have been through… when I felt alone and needed help and all I had was God on my side and He comforted me. At many times, I was betrayed by friends and family, and this was a tough subject for me to address. I believe this song highlights my evolution as an artist, and in the distant future when I am no longer here, I would like to be remembered by this song. I have put my ego aside and chose to be vulnerable to the world so that others can see we are not all perfect. Everyone struggles in this life and is okay to choose God." -Lokixximo

ONI "Spark" ft. Sueco - The Official Music Video

ONI - "Spark" ft. Sueco - The Official Music Video

“Spark is an awesome song and Sueco is a super chill cool dude to work with. Overall, we made a banger of a song. A real Josh Gilbert masterpiece.

  • Jake ONI

“Working with ONI was a cool experience, the music video was really nuts. Probably one of the craziest videos I’ve been a part of. Excited for it to finally be out!”

  • Sueco

The creative evolution of the multifaceted metallic force known as ONI never ends. Rather, ONI is always evolving, braving treacherous waters, searching for a distinctive light in the darkness. The Silver Line is the third full-length album issued under the ONI banner, and it is at once the most dynamic yet cohesive and focused work of powerhouse frontman Jake Oni’s burgeoning career. Produced, mixed, and mastered by the duo of Spiritbox bassist Josh Gilbert and Joe McQueen (As I Lay Dying, Light The Torch, Bad Wolves), The Silver Line is as ambitious as it is catchy and incisive. A quick perusal of the guests featured on ONI’s third album reveals the wide range of the band’s appeal. “Silence In a Room of Lies” pairs ONI with YouTuber and musician Jared Dines. “Underneath My Skin” features Sleeping With Sirens frontman Kellin Quinn. “Aura” boasts Gilbert and ex-Killswitch Engage singer Howard Jones. Pop-punk-resurgence star Sueco lends his voice to “Spark.”

Like Nine Inch Nails, LCD Soundsystem, or Leviathan, ONI is both a band and one man’s vision. Jake first conceived of ONI as “the band I never got to see” in 2014, recruiting different players with technical skills to make music that shook the foundations of the scene. Early comparisons to genre heavyweights like Meshuggah, Between The Buried And Me, and Protest The Hero came swiftly.

ONI released Ironshore on Metal Blade Records in 2016, heralded by No Clean Singing as “maybe the most impressive debut I’ve heard this year.” As ONI traveled the globe, the band shared stages with Gojira, Code Orange, Children Of Bodom, and Death Angel, making stops at festivals in North America and Europe headlined by the likes of Rob Zombie, KISS, Scorpions, and Korn. Metal Injection described them as “key figures in paving the way for a new wave of progressive metalcore.” With fearless ambition, Jake sharpened his creative chops in a shockingly short amount of time. (He co-wrote “Cross Off” with the late Chester Bennington for Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton’s debut solo album.) ONI’s surprise release EP, Alone, racked up nearly 2 million streams on Spotify.

But coming out of a spiral of depression, addiction, and turmoil positioned him to reevaluate everything about his life, and that included ONI. Jake hit “reset,” and a full-blown hard rock masterpiece emerged in 2022. Jake, producer Josh Wilbur (Megadeth, Trivium, Gojira), and Morton created Loathing Light in the studio together. Songs like “Against My Sins” and “Heart of Stone” rang true to devotees of Five Finger Death Punch, Of Mice & Men, and Linkin Park. Rippers like “Gasoline” and “Sequence Static” brought Slipknot intensity levels. The album featured guest appearances from City Morgue, punk icon Iggy Pop, and Morton’s bandmate, D. Randall Blythe. “For all its diversity, Loathing Light still feels cohesive,” wrote UK tastemaker Kerrang! in an enthusiastic review. “It’s essentially the work of one man, and a big battering ram of a comeback.” As a new live lineup coalesced around Jake, ONI spent roughly a year supporting the sophomore album: touring with Starset and Red; dropping the monstrous standalone single “Iron Heart”; a North American trek co-headlined by Cradle Of Filth and DevilDriver; and an early 2023 jaunt across Jake’s native Canada with Big 4 metal legends Megadeth and UK metalcore vets Bullet For My Valentine. The Silver Line ups the ante once more, adding another full-length chapter to ONI’s ever-expanding songbook.

ONI is a means to exorcise personal demons for anyone who listens and connects to the sound, the spirit, and the stand taken by the songs. The Silver Line is as much for them as it is for Jake.“Music is such a gift,” Jake says thoughtfully. “If you can make music, and people respond to it I've learned not to take that for granted. Count your blessings because the opportunity to make music is such a great one. We should always be grateful. Because it's the coolest job anyone could do.”

In modern times, the demonic ONI figure of Japanese Folklore transformed into a personification of protection, often adorning rooftops or leading festive parades to ward off evil. In this same spirit, the crushing but melodic aggressive music of ONI, the band, is an empowering weapon. ONI casts out the cruel demons of self-hatred, addiction, and whatever destructive obstacles one might face.

AWO AYO "High on Life" - Official Music Video

AWO AYO "High on Life" - Official Music Video Awo Ayo is a Nigerian/Liberian Afrobeats artist. Video shot in Brooklyn, NY and directed by @vjoneofficial. Dances and choreography by @JudithMcCarty.

Taorid Akinola, better known by his stage name, Awo Ayo, has come a long way, both physically and metaphorically. This up-and-coming artist has been rocking the musical scene of West Africa, the US, and the rest of the world with his innovative style, which he modestly dubs Afro-Dancehall. Juxtaposing a classic Afrobeat rhythm with dancehall vibes, Awo Ayo crafts a unique, and highly exciting new sound.

And as with many a great artist, his fresh approach to music is rooted largely in his complex and fascinating life experience. Originating from Nigeria, Awo Ayo realized he wanted to be a musician from a very early age. Yet it wasn’t until he moved to Liberia, following his father’s passing, that his dream began to take shape. A journey in more ways than one, the road to Liberia was slow and winding. Traveling by bus, the artist made several stops along the way, learning, discovering, and experiencing new cultures, people, and of course, vibes.

All of that is reflected in his music. In a world so heavily bent on negativity, Awo Ayo makes a daily effort to infuse his music and online presence with good vibes he picked up along the way. More than just a great set of tunes, his music is an active reminder of the value and power of human connection.

His upcoming single release, ‘High On Life’, blends several styles from across the world. In its creation, the artist worked with multiple producers, to get as colorful a sound as possible with the track set to be the lead single to his upcoming EP ‘Lagos 2 Monrovia’ set to drop in December 2023.

While the music bears traces of and nods to great names in the industry like Drake and Burna Boy, Awo Ayo’s style is ultimately his own, and therein lies its true power. The artist’s main focus is being his most authentic, most genuine self, with the main goal of the music being to reflect Awo Ayo’s own experiences, moving across the world and making music. There is something deeply relatable in this one human’s journey that will no doubt resonate with listeners across the world, from all sorts of backgrounds.

Bad Veins - "Wendy" - Official Music Video

BAD VEINS Releases "WENDY" - written by Benjamin Davis. Directed by Cat Rider.

Ben Davis of Cincinnati, Ohio-based experimental indie-pop band, Bad Veins, is a mad scientist, indie-rock hermit. His happy place is being in his attic creating music with a 1970s Mattel Optigan electronic organ; a megaphone; and a trusty reel to reel recorder he has named “Irene.” It’s been 8 years since Bad Veins has released an album, but today Ben has come down from the attic with a new Bad Veins long player. The band’s third album, Imposter, out December 1st on Dynamite Music, may be his magnum opus.

“I do think it’s the best record I’ve ever made, but there is a reluctance for me to even admit that. I almost believe it’s good,” he laughs. “I am in constant fluctuation back and forth as to whether I want to be a public person, or just keep to myself. I had no career ambitions when I first started Bad Veins. I just enjoyed making music in my attic. So, there is always the feeling of ‘imposter syndrome’ when I have to do music business type things.”

Bad Veins specializes in pop subversion. It’s almost as if Ben hands classic pop songs with, at times, soaring choruses to a fearless soundscape adventurer to have his way with them. Bad Veins songs teem with synthetic woodwinds and choirs, lo-fi hiss, grimy broken-instrument textures, shambolic indie rock guitars, sublime 1980s new wave synths, and ear-worm hooks. Bad Veins lyrics are often non-linear, and almost abstractions of emotions. “When people ask what my songs are about, I ask them what they think they’re about because everyone’s interpretation is as valid as my own,” Ben says.

The cagey artist’s weird-but-well-crafted and indie pop, and his reluctant performer mystique have galvanized fans to form Bad Veins Army battalions all over the internet. There are squads on Reddit, in private Facebook groups, and beyond. The military imagery is no doubt inspired by Ben wearing his father’s army jacket onstage. That jacket has also been immortalized in an image associated with Ken Burns’s Country Music documentary miniseries—the 1970s episode—in which Ben’s father, a Vietnam vet and musician, is photographed in that jacket armed with a rifle and a guitar.

Bad Veins has achieved that rare feat of earning hipster acclaim and mass media appeal. It has been featured in Billboard, Paste, Spin, MTV, Entertainment Weekly, Esquire (“Songs Every Man Should Listen to”), and USA Today (Top 20 songs of the Year). Bad Veins received the "Target Music Maker" Award for “Best Emerging Artist” at the Tribeca Film Festival and was awarded CMJ Breakout Act by CMJ.com. Ben’s music has appeared in television shows such as Queer Eye and Santa Clarita Diet. Bad Veins has toured with Walk The Moon, Two Door Cinema Club, Frightened Rabbit, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and St Lucia.
