Jonas Blue: I wrote “By Your Side” in London, and I had this out-of-body experience while DJing at one of my festival gigs. I had this idea of being in the crowd, like with me still DJing but me also in the crowd sharing a magical moment with someone I was passionate about. I wanted to create a song about having that moment. Then it evolved into having this person in your life next to you helping you through things. It’s very different for a dance song because you don’t hear dance songs with this deep lyrical content. My songs are very songwriter-based and it comes from the classic pop background of being inspired by Max Martin and Calvin Harris.

German purveyors of folktronica Milky Chance have returned with another lean slice of what they do best, dubbed Cocoon. The track is the first peep from the band since they made us all move with their 2013 debut album Sadnecessary.

If you found yourself seriously enjoying their maiden offering and its huge lead single Stolen Dance, then you’re in for a treat. Cocoon (below) sees the pair once again fuse their crooning folk sensibilities with an electronic groove. So simple, right? But oh so effective. Milky Chance are back again to steal a dance with your ears on another track.

After signalling the arrival of a new album with lead single 'Cocoon', the German duo have released another taste of the follow-up to 2014's Sadnecssary, which saw them cracking the Top of that year's Hottest 100.

'Doing Good' is a bit of a darker turn from the upbeat sounds of 'Cocoon', which probably has a bit to do with the subject matter. Clemens and Philipp explain the song is about how we so often tell people we're fine when they ask how we're going, when actually we might really be less than good.
