Jeff Tynan - Slow Down (Official Music Video) [sequel to "Better I Was"]
THE VIDEO: (directed by Max Miller - director of Australian Rolling Stone music video of the year 2014) After searching for reality & dealing with loss in the "Better I Was" clip (also directed by Max Miller), let's rewind back to the turning point where actor John Teague finds a new positive direction on the same journey, leading to a return to self & one's roots for new growth. Also featuring Sarah Tynan.
THE SONG: (written by Jeff Tynan) An earthy roots/folk song documenting a sudden fall back down to earth leading to a moment of resolution & an acceptance of reality. This brings forth personal rejuvenation & a new-found optimism in life & relationships. The highlight is a sweet acoustic guitar riff, with beautiful female harmonies & a dreamy layer of stratocaster in stereo delay.
REVIEW: (by Tony Bates, 3MDR 97.1FM) "Slow Down appears to be a very personal song, but I am sure that the most astute among us will relate to it. Great lyrics and a resounding backing make this a stand-alone track, especially with its ‘false intro and outro’; it is a track full of insight and yet a degree of apprehension."
SHORT BIO: Jeff Tynan is a Melbourne independent singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer. The debut EP "Revolving" blends deep earthy roots in indie-folk/rock, featuring raw sounds of wood & strings, weaving between passionate lyrics of self-growth & social awareness. Besides song-writing, production & artwork credits on the EP, Jeff also took care of lead & backing vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, 12-string mandolin, 6-string banjo, harmonica, stomp-boxes under-foot & percussion.

“Yukon Blonde have built up a catalogue of perfectly crafted pop songs, but their forthcoming album On Blonde has them expanding into a more sophisticated dance rock sound. Songs like “Como” and “Saturday Night” are euphoric gems of heavenly layered vocals and retro synth leads.” – Stereogum
Canadian synth-pop band Yukon Blonde have built up a catalogue of perfectly crafted pop songs, but their forthcoming album On Blonde has them expanding into a more sophisticated dance rock sound. Songs like “Como” and “Saturday Night” are euphoric gems of heavenly layered vocals and retro synth leads. It’s no wonder these tracks sound so huge and glossy, with Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Dan Mangan, Sleepy Sun) producing and Tony Hoffer (M83, Beck, Foster The People Air, Depeche Mode) mixing. In the video for the band’s new single, “Saturday Night”, director Mac Boucher (Grimes’ brother, he of the “Go” video) recreates a French New Wave-inspired photo shoot with drag queen Sapphire as the star. The video, which consists of three seamless one-shot takes, is a cheeky, surrealist trip through a warehouse, complete with clowns, Russian henchmen, and a caricatured photographer.
Boucher says “I first saw Sapphire perform at a drag show nearly a year ago, and I knew I had to work with her in some way. She’s animated, glamorous, and is straight up one of the best performers I’ve ever seen. The idea of a drag queen is fascinating, because dissimilar to transgender, the drag queen’s purpose is to perform, provoke, and really, really question what you’re seeing… which is always a good thing in my opinion. Sapphire’s character, ‘Diva’, similar to Tim Curry’s in Rocky Horror, has a commanding presence that literally pulls us through the environment.”

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the video for "I'm All Around", a doomy synth pop number. If Man Ray and the Invisible Man dropped acid together, I imagine it would look a bit like this.
