Juliane - As Simple
Montreal-based R&B pop singer/songwriter Juliane releases As Simple music video, the second single off her debut self-titled EP.
The video and song showcases Juliane's sweet and soulful vocals and is all about simplicity. As Simple is about pure love. Sometimes you try to find special ways to declare your love to someone but, more often that not, less is more.
“It's maybe just As Simple as to say I love you.”
The song was co-written with Sarah MK and directed by Pierre-Luc Boucher from Pourquoi Pas Productions.
About Juliane Raised by a music-loving father and creative mother, Juliane’s interest in music developed at a very young age.
She often recreated Michael Jackson’s 1994 Superbowl performance in her living room when she was four, and also majored in music as a student at Université du Québec à Montréal.
Juliane draws inspiration from pop/soul artists of the 90s and early 2000s, including Destiny’s Child and Mariah Carey, and incorporates these influences into her music today.
Juliane has steadily gained a strong following in her time as a performer, playing shows around the Montreal area and even gaining attention from musician Akon, who stated, “I honestly never thought that big voice could come out of that little body.”
She released her debut EP on October 20 2015. It was written with various songwriters, including Juno Award-nominated songwriter/producer Albert Chambers (Simple Plan, Chromeo, Queen Latifah) and Zachary “Soke” Raymond (Taio Cruz, Olly Murs), and mastered by Tom Coyne (Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd).

Continuing along one of the central themes of the upcoming album "This Glorious No Age,” Attention plays on the sense of tension and anxiety as we speculate over what’s down the line. In an attempt to capture this very real, very abstract feeling, the band and director travelled around their adopted home, Portugal, for a week, interviewing locals about their future projections regarding politics, economics, eco-disaster, personal aspirations, and used these real interviews as the backbone of their video.
