Filmed in the city of Dundee, the band’s hometown, the video sees them collaborate with up-and-coming director Daniel Warren (“Whatever Gets You Through The Night”) and award wining choreographer Frank MacConnell (“A Wee Home From Home”). As the Janes’ Andrew Mitchell explains, “We’re big fans of Daniel’s, however, we only had a narrow window of opportunity to put our collective heads together. If I remember correctly, we had a conversation about the video while he was in San Francisco working on another project—the generational aspect, coupled with the cyclical nature of the story, amongst other things. He wrote the treatment on the flight home and we shot the following weekend, just like that. Equally, having Frank involved was incredibly important to us. His perception and grasp of movement is second to none. To work with them both was very special indeed. Hopefully some of that comes across.” “The roots of ‘If Ever There Is Gladness’ lay somewhere in acknowledging time passing us by—or, perhaps, trying to postpone an acceptance of what has been and what may/may not lie ahead of us, rather than simply appreciating the things in front of you. I believe the metronome was set at ‘Cruising Roy Orbison’.” “If Ever There Is Gladness” will be available as a free download beginning this Sunday, May 25. The Hazey Janes’ new album Language Of Faint Theory lands on store shelves June 2 on 180g vinyl (with download code) and on CD as well. The band will be embarking on a headline tour of Scotland in June.

BlankTV is hosting the first music video by NYC punk rock band The Strange Times! The video features the song "Potion," off of the band's debut EP "I Love Cops," which was recorded with Jesse Cannon (The Cure, Misfits, Animal Collective).
This intense and colorful video takes the viewer on a psychedelic journey through a punk rock show, at an apartment in Harlem. It manages to pack in radical social commentary while remaining entertaining, and at times humorous.

New stop animation art video by Tobias Stretch (Radiohead, Deftones). It is inspired by composer Christopher Bono's choral work, Unity. The extraordinary video, constructed from over ten thousand pictures and created largely outdoors over the long 2013-2014 winter, was released May 15 on YouTube. A recording of Unity paired with Bono’s The Unexcelled Mantra, performed by the New York Virtuoso Singers led by Harold Rosenbaum, was released as a digital download and on 7” vinyl in October 2013 on Our Silent Canvas distributed digitally by Naxos.
