50 Cent "The Massacre" DVD
okay, 50 Cent isn't exactly the most innovative when it comes to music videos - but he just rereleased The Massacre with a video for every single song on the album. This includes the big budget MTV videos for radio singles but the majority of the DVD is low-budget 24P videos. Nothing is mindblowing but I find the idea novel, especially since I assume many of the videos were done by up & coming directors. Who would turn down a $10K budget and 8 hours w/ 50 Cent?

Didn't Sonic Youth do this with Goo? What's 24P mean? You love fiddy, don't you cap?
who's goo?
24P = Cameras that shoot 24 progressive frames but record to a miniDV tape
if it's done right can almost look like film, but it's easy to notice, sometimes.
cap loves "Hate it or Love it", "In da club" and "Magic Stick" but fiddy isn't very consistent.
goo was the dog of tomte singer thees. 8hs with 50cent, he's gotta pay me way more for that experience.....
super furry animals and hexstatic have done it as well.
Goo was the album that Sonic Youth made a video for every song for. Most of them were pretty crappy though. I don't know why I asked because I already knew that the answer was "yes".
Is 24P an aesthetic choice now?
24P is typically an economical choice, more than an aesthetic choice. done right, it can look just as good as super 16mm, and 35mm done poorly can look just as "good" as 24P video, if that makes any sense. video is a great weapon for the independent filmmaker now, as you can use limited resources and make a totally pro product.
cKy did the same as well. Bam Margara directed a vid for every song. It's a great DVD. 50 is a crazy mofo. I'd watch the dvd thou.
heres a story how vincent gallo and john frusciante did it. quite entertaining read.
Wasn't Blondie the first to do a video for every song? September 1979, David Mallet. Album: Eat to the Beat
