unexpected and pleasant little diversion in the middle.
first of all, beautiful song, which helps. i much prefer this sort of low fi tone poem stuff that's really listening to the music to the recent parade of after effects videos where random objects and images for some reason are flying through space around the band.
like that Blood of Abraham video you guys did.
BOA is a satire. and it's funny. i'm talking about the super slick stuff in the early franz ferdinand arena
i really liked the seagulls in this, for some reason. (oh and: e* should be a little more careful: the face from his menomena video crept into this one too.)
wow. at first i thought i was bored but then i realized that i was capitvated.
although i have to say that with a really nice song like this, i'm jealous.
man-i seriously just came online to post this very video. i think it's over the top good. my favorite e*rock video, all the more so because it STARTS OFF feeling straightforward or even a bit predictable, and builds and builds and builds and then blows up.
there's something subtly magnificent in the cumulative effect: it's uniquely visual and non-/post-verbal. a definitely think a "tone poem" is the right description for both the song and the video.
i find it hard to pin down why this becomes poetry in a way that most flashy videos, however cool, fail to.
I concur. This was really good. It felt like a video where what wasn't included was more important than what was (i.e. less is mo). Does e-rock have a director website?
huh?
yup---e*rock's site is:
including collabos with paperrad peoples. he does music + animation live and is i think still on tour.
I really like the e*rock video he did for Kill Me Tomorrow. The more colorful liquidy stuff.
