If anybody feels like adding links to this, post 'em and I'll put 'em in. I'm done for now, got housework to do..
not straightforward, but should count as one-take nonetheless, i think
Yeah, there were a bunch of animated ones I didn't know belonged or not. Do they truly inherit the spirit of the one-taker??
Peter Gabriel "Zaar"
Air "Don't Be Light"
there was an italian one-shot video which was shot in two versions for the original band (le vibrazioni "dedicato a te"; the SAME video was then shot (same director and location, with only slight changes in the characters) for two other artists (frankie hi nrg, and then also elio & le storie tese). i'll try to find links.
Hmmm...I believe that the Stereo MCs had a one-shot or pseudo one-shot with their "Deep Down & Dirty" video.
Christina Aguilera "the voice within" -here is a sample from that one:
And, I'm not sure Sinead O'Connor "nothing compares to you"

I'm so glad I found the Jake Scott video for Mother Mother. this is a favorite of mine and it's really held up well over the years. and what a great song! by a very talented and underrated artist.
Wow, nice adds everyone. Forgot some great ones there. I never even realized that Phoenix vid was a one-take vid, Roman shot it as if it were different shots. No wonder I didn't get it until right now..
And whatever happened to Tracy Bonham anyway?
Foo Fighters "My Hero" would be a one-take if not for a few quick edits at the beginning, but good enough, really.
Placebo - "Protège-moi"
Arielle - "Si mince"
Bone Fiction - "Insanely Cheerful"
Mano Solo - "Je n'ai pas"
(directed by Gaspar Noé)
George Michael - "Flawless" (Scott)

I think I'll be adding to this post ad infinitum.. How could I forget:
The Replacements "Bastards of Young" (MTV)
Idlewild "A Modern Way Of Letting Go"
(In Real Player)
can't find it anywhere but i remember a smart one-take video for My Life Story "It's A Girl Thing" done by Barnaby & Scott (i think) at Hammer & Tongs. It was filmed with a two way mirror...
Carla Bruni - "Quelqu'un m'a dit" (dir. Leos Carax)

Thx for the direct link. Carax co-wrote the song, too. And directed another video for Bruni: "Tout le monde". Here's the link. Hope it works. Cheers.

"And whatever happened to Tracy Bonham anyway?"
everybody thought she fell off the face of the planet after Mother Mother, but she never stopped working. and in June she released a new album, Blink the Brightest, a great collection of songs she's been working on for a while, and it's one of the best albums of 2005.
Björk "Desired Constellation" (LynnFox - on the Medulla Videos DVD)
as per this,
Rumble Strip "Motorcycle" (dir. Harry Dwyer)
Elton John "I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That" (Russell Mulcahy) - Does anybody remember if this is a real (faux) one take video? I remember the swipe edits as it went from room to room, but I think Russell was going for a one-take feel. ???
The White Stripes "7 Nation Army"
U2 "The Sweetest thing"
The Verve "Bitter Sweet Symphony" (unless the last part)
..and that monkey drummer from Cunningham's DVD
Thanks ripz - there's always more hiding under various rocks..
And everyone thinks Bitter Sweet Symphony is a one-take (minus the end), but it's not, sillies.
And there was another one-take video, with a boy and a girl kissing (half face), slow take, no camera movements...
anyone remembers it?? what was the song??
Does anybody remember a music video on MTV during the 1986-1988? era using mirrors as an illusion with floating arms and legs?
