Bif Naked - Tango Shoes (dir: Neill Blomkamp)
Neill is going to directed the Halo feature movie. Good luck. This should be one his few music videos.

What an unfortunate pile of shite.
not all videos should be fantastic , some are just cool and simple . i think the idea behind it should be more understood by women than men .
nice poetry, yakoub :) This was a weird choice for Neill, no?
I'm a bit of a fan of Blomkamp's work, but I can't find anything positive to say about this... terrible song, terrible performance, poor CG, and the premise is just lazy....
total kak - is this really by Neill Blomkamp?
maybe he's dating the singer or something...
That was the best I found. The other ones are here:
OK first off her name is Bif Naked. I don't even know where to begin between the cheesy wannabe Gwen vox, the dirt bag tattoos, the awful wig and the busted grill. What's with the CG tank. Any good CG artist I've ever worked with always says the same thing about photo real 3D. If you can actually shoot it, thats better than than making it in post. So why make the tank in 3D when thats an easy shoot; it pops out like a sore thumb? I can't even comment on the concept.
It seems like in today's youth cultural climate, the most empowering thing a women can do in a music video is wreak violent fury on whatever hapless guy wrongs them. It's everywhere, from Avril to Hillary Duff to Clarkson's 'Since You've Been Gone', and even Lily Allen's first video. While the idea of a strong women exacting revenge on an ex-lover isn't exactly new territory, it seems like the green light has been given for young female pop stars to go jihad on a guy no questions asked. The part that bothers me, is that it doesn't seem empowering. In almost every instance, the girl seems to come off as kind of pathetically emotional and unable to cope rationally with a relational dilemma. There really has to be a better way of representing the archetypal 'strong female' character.
See, I've never been impressed with blomkamp's CG. Especially his work that incorporates live action -- the stuff everyone likes to claim as being "organic" - haha, fuck that. Aside from the raw models (low poly's), the compositing is always less than par (the above included).
He's a television director front to back. Landing Halo makes sense to me. I immediately imagine him being the scifi channel's darling.
Or maybe even something more terrestrial i.e. Lost.
Joss Wheedon, Neil Blomkamp, JJ Abrams, it all meshes somehow.
Terrible video all-around, but Blomkamp is great -- I'll forgive him this mis-step.
wow bif naked irritates me to no end...
they didn't use a tank cause they couldn't afford it. i thought this was okay (can't really tell the compositing here).
i know Peter Jackson's involved, but are people seriously going into Halo expecting anything better than Doom or Tomb Raider? I mean, movies based on video games have sucked and always will suck. Same crap where the die-hard fans will bitch about changes to the characters while the non-players (80% of the audience) will have no idea what the fuck is going on.
the law of averages suggest that someone has to get a game tie in right eventually...
or am i being overly optimistic?
Should be fine as long as Uwe Boll isn't involved.
See Blomkamp's reel - Citroen is his best
read the thoughts of the man himself on the Halo movie:
Most thought a movie based off a Disney Ride would suck too. But Pirates is a hit...
this video is 4 years old, just in case anybody was wondering..
Peter Jackson + Blomkamp = District 9
