But 2019 isn't over yet!
I thought about this for a while.
I'm not willing to vote for any of this stuff coz I don't actually like the personality of the artists presented
Up first Ed Sheeran who's a No No! I don't care how many billions of stans he has, who he collaborates with or units he's sold! He represents (to me at least) the mainstream non diaspora equivalent of Daniel O'Donnell
Taylor Swift Yes I did think the "Me" video was great, an LSD infused Sherbet fountain or more correctly Kali fountain but I don't subscribe to her plastic 3rd wave feminism, I've more respect for Miley who also subscribes to such guff. While I think Miley genuinely believes she is making a statement, I feel Taylor uses such pronouncements to enhance her 'Star' status which brings me to another difference between the pair Miley is a musician while Taylor is a star, of the pain in the arse Diva variety!
While a lot can be said about Kpop artists allegedly having to go under the knife I'm not enamored by the American standard of beauty aesthetics as promoted by the likes of Cardi B's and Nicki Minaj's implants, mirrored in the instagram photoshop procedures of the Kardashian/Jenner clan and a raft of Social media influencers as laid bare by Ethan! Bonkers
DJ Khaled, funny on Youtube after the "Wish Wish" video, Chris Brown's "Wobble up" video, wobbles up and only seems to fortify my observation. Do such video's visualise or reinforce sexism or are they just rightfully expressing artistic freedom?
I'll come back if I think of more
