just kidding but it's a tad mid-nineties generic... like thinking Alice in Chains is gonna pop out any second. I guess the fact they're singing in german makes it sort of amusing.
No alice in chains here at all. I'm thinking a modern poppy rendition of the beach boys -- only terribly worse. This style doesn't work for me, cartoon rock and roll. Not only that, but here's yet another goddamn promo that features uninteresting people banging on various intstruments.
I really dislike seeing/feeling the mechanics of 'how to' in promos. I don't want to see lights, wires, cranes, etc as a main aesthetic backdrop(s). Sam Bayer does this best but even his work is boringly populated with this shit.
For me, the big sinkhole of this piece is when we boom down from the ceiling and land on the drummer as he hits his final symbol right before the bridge - it's such a purposeful moment. This is awful because the shot is absolutely professional and flawless in its execution. It suggests a sense of precise control in the filmmakers that makes me question their intention(s). Because not only do they completely know HOW and WHAT they're doing, but they really truly like it. You know, I don't know...
It just smells like pussy I'd never eat.
