wow that sucked
they could have done so much better
This makes me sad.
i realllllllly don't think this an official video...
he's a friend of the band, and made this on no budget (not even one of those candian arts grants cause wolf parade are on a u.s. label). its junkiness is ok by me.
It sucks but it's not worst thing I've seen. It's at least interesting. Like an Ed Wood movie. -j
There's too many people out there doing this kind of budget effects work really well, for this to work at even a 'knowingly bad' level. The effects are so poorly realised that it's hard to see past that. Disbelief is resoundingly not suspended! It's a shame because the idea has mileage and in between the hammy bits, there are actually some nice moments.
Perhaps it's a lesson in what not to attempt on a budget of zero.
@ progosk: i took the comments you had on my no-budget video for Milow seriously but if this wolf parade video is "ok" by your standards than i shall just leave it at this and conclude that we have very different tastes in musicvideos. keep posting tho.
the reason this is ok by me is that it went with a simple idea, no, better: a simple and original idea, and took it somewhere. the roughness of the effect fits the overall esthetic, the editing is suggestive (the too-long laughter in particular). so: yeah, i think this one's a pretty ok effort.
you directed (isaac?) or produced milow? yours is much slicker photographically, and it has to be, since the photo-face idea you borrowed is fairly sophisticated, so yay to high production value if you did it for no bucks. but beyond that idea and nice photography, the video just sits there and waits. for what?
might well be that we have different tastes; and i'd discourage you from taking my comments with anything but salt - but i stand by my perplexity...
that video was very beautiful. well done.
i enjoyed it. very original.
love it. fantastic.
come now lets not give this director false hopes....there is definetlty something interesting here but it needs to be articulated.
Fun watch. Kept me interested, and kept my attention. Most of the time I have to quickly scrub through a lot of these posts. I need something to hook me. Even something little, whether it's the music, a mood, or just something small in the imagery that's intriguing. This is an absurd and playful video, and I found the lofi technique humorous. Good on ya.
the audio quality is crappy, we can barely hear anything unles we set the sound to maximum
thx for the good comments. that be unfinished work. you can see it finished here> www.mattmoroz.com
link updated above. (welcome to the colony, matt.)
this video is hilarious. it's refreshing to see a music video that doesn't have the band in it. there are so many videos trying to promote a band's image. i can't even figure out what this is trying to promote or communicate to me, and that's why i like it.
i thought it was an awesome video. i wish more music videos were done this way. very artistic and original. by the way, where was this shot?
