Portishead - "Only You" - Dir. Chris Cunningham
Still reeling from that Federline dir. Cunningham "joke", so here's the real deal from 1998
Talk Talk "I Believe In You"
I had no idea this video even existed until today. One of Talk Talk's most beautiful songs and the video seems to really suit the mood of it. I'm especially fond of the gradual overlays and shaft of light as the outro kicks in. Apologies for YouTube but I cannot find it anywhere else.
Origins of the female artists' walk away shot/moment...
This might be a stupid question, but I was wondering if there is a specific origin to it, or if anyone could hash up the earliest of videos that first featured it.
also seen in countless other videos such as Can't Hold Us Down by Christina Aguilera
The Beta Band "Inner Meet Me" dir. The Beta Band (1999)
The lads take to the hills - (cuts out at the end: things fly [backwards] into their hands, they have fire ritual)

Clinic go Beta Band?
Collide "Euphoria" Director: Kevin McVey
Kelis - "Trick Me" - Dir. Little X
Classic, non-interventionist video. Hire a good set designer, put the charisma-burdened star in the middle of it and shoot.
Embedded FLV in over-complicated director's website You Tube MOV
