Stepdad - Pick and Choose [Official] by HannesJohannes(Hannes Elltorp & Johannes Helgelin)
The official music video for Stepdad's song "Pick and Choose." Directed, drawn and animated by Hannes Elltorp and Johannes Helgelin. (hannesjohannes.com) Facebook: facebook.com/HannesJohannes Music by Stepdad (stepdad.us/) We just got our video for the Blackbell Records signed band Stepdad released. Everything in the video is hand drawn from scratch on paper using fineliners and promarkers. We then scanned all the artwork and cut it out piece by piece in photoshop to be able to animate it and put it together in After Effects. Around 700 A4 papers were used and loads of fineliners and promarkers. Since we are only two people working on our videos, this piece took us little more than a month to finish. We tried to focus on the environment to create both depth and feeling and aim for some kind of epic feeling. Let us know what you think! Enjoy!
Charles Walker Band - Hope [Live]
This video was shot at Tressa's Downtown Jazz and Blues in Ashville, NC on the band's "Relentless" tour. The song "Hope" is from their latest album and the song was heavily influenced by Sly and the Family Stone and James Brown.
The song was inspired from a bass player that was with us, Larry Hubbord. The lead singer, Porsche, was complaining about getting lots of mosquito bites from the last festival we played and he said, "That's cause you got that sweet meat" and that clicked...what if that was another name for a bootie. After that, the song pretty much wrote itself.
Grounded in blues, the band refined their unique sound into what can best be described as soul, a fusion of funk, r&b and Motown. Though compared to an array of musicians (Sly and the Family Stone, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, George Clinton and Parliment Funkadelics, James Brown), their music retains deep gospel influences and positive lyrical messages.
