Elijah Ford & the Bloom, "Try As You Might." Director: Ben/Dave
New York-based directing duo Ben/Dave, represented by Washington Square Films, causes pandemonium at a little girls’ beauty pageant in the new music video for Elijah Ford & The Bloom’s new track “Try As You Might.” The track is the lead single from Ford’s upcoming LP As You Were, which will be released September 16th via Nine Mile Records. The video features Ford as an unexpected entrant at a youth beauty pageant, taking any means necessary to secure the crown. His sabotaging antics include replacing a contestant’s hairspray with blue spray paint, unscrewing all the roller skate wheels before a girl’s talent act and triggering a nasty allergic reaction with a poisonous dart. Ben/Dave leverage their award-winning comedy background to deliver an effortlessly understated humor to the video.
Notes director Dave Thomas, “When we first heard the track, we quickly fell in deep, awkward love with it. It’s a perfect pop song, and wedges itself into your ears in a truly delightful way. Elijah and Ashley came to us with the idea of doing something around the idea of a ‘Toddlers and Tiaras’-style beauty pageant. Somehow the combination seemed irresistible. Girls. Taffeta. Sequins. Rock and roll. It didn’t make any sense, but we couldn’t stop thinking about it.”
Adds Ford, “The girls were constantly running back and forth to hair and makeup to be ready take after take. We had an incredibly talented crew come together to turn Ben/Dave’s concept into reality. It was awesome to witness the production machine that made this project happen.”

1V - How long must I talk to you? You must confide what you're goin' through. You don't deserve what you might guess. You'll take it all, and screw the rest.
C - Well you don't know a thing about it. You're sittin' there just singin' your tune. You think the worlds got something in it for you. Yeah, you think you're King of the Hill. Ahh my my.
2V - You've got some nerve comin' here. You drank my wine, and stole my beer. So what they say, it must be true. You've got the lawman after you.

Cheap Thrills - Sia ft. Sean Paul (Lyric Video)
“Cheap Thrills” was originally written for Rihanna’s album ANTi. The song was rejected and later included on Sia’s This Is Acting—an album that is comprised entirely of songs Sia wrote for other people.
The song is tropical flavored with EDM influences much like Rihanna’s past works.
On February 12, 2016 a remixed version of the song featuring Jamaican hip-hop artist, Sean Paul was released as the second single off the album.

adidas Y-3 autumn/winter 2016
Sonic Union mixer Brian Goodheart teams up with director Robert Broadhurst to bring the edgy aesthetic of the Autumn/Winter 2016 collection for Adidas Y-3 to visceral life in an intense new campaign video from the Blackrose agency. The short film features models sporting Y-3 gear against an abandoned industrial backdrop, racing against the intrusive gaze of an omnipresent surveillance system. The wardrobe of oversize black hoods, chunky boots, skintight leggings and activewear, paired with a pulse-pounding soundtrack, brings to life the intersection of rave culture and the minimalism of modern urban youth style.
“The goal was to explore data culture and at least abstractly hint at what might lie beyond the current catastrophe of unchecked surveillance,” says director Broadhurst. “Yohji’s famous quote about ‘clothing as armor’ really stuck with me. He meant it as a reference to the male gaze but these days that gaze feels like it belongs to everyone -- from the state to corporations to every single one of us living our lives online -- and at this point total exposure feels inescapable. I liked thinking about the idea that, at least until it inevitably starts capturing data, clothing may be one of the last places a person can actually find privacy. It’s weirdly obvious but there it is. It may not shield your communications or your whereabouts but at least it still conceals your body. So even though these sneaky security cameras track the characters throughout this seemingly forgotten refuge, at least they can’t penetrate their clothes.”
Sonic Union mixer Brian Goodheart worked closely with Broadhurst to deepen the textured soundtrack and amplify its sense of siege and suspense. “When I came in with fresh ears, I was able to really refine the sonic arc of the piece with Robert,” he notes. “We took a closer look and refocused the climax of the piece to an earlier moment and the whole piece really came together.” Broadhurst agrees. “Brian crushed it. He solved a huge, lingering story challenge and brought it together perfectly.”
The short film will air online, as well as in Y-3 stores.

Carrie Underwood - Church Bells (Official Video)
“Church Bells” is the fourth single from Carrie Underwood’s fifth studio album Storyteller. It was released to country radio on April 3, 2016.
The song is about a young woman who marries a rich man, a marriage that comes somewhat violent and she ends up poisoning him “mysteriously” in order to free herself.
Carrie Underwood calls it “Fancy’s little sister”, referring to Reba McEntire’s 1991 single.
