Kate Bush "King of the Mountain"
Directed by Jimmy Murakami
Huge MOV - Regular MOV - Real High - Real Low - Win High - Win Low
This premiered Oct. 15th. Kate's got a lot going on, thank God.
cringeworthy...
She needs to be superimposed over more things before I can give this video my full recommendation.
Yeah I was hoping she'd drop some of her 80's melodrama. This vid is littered with her prog rock sensibilities, not to mention that the protagonist is a cape, albeit one Elvis actually wore.
The performance footage is on another plane, besides that awful superimposition setanor mentioned. And then there are the newspapers.
Kate's always drawn from the theater for her (few) performances and videos, which isn't usually good for the video, although her early ones were good (albeit joyfully weird; this is Kate) because they were simple. This one tries too hard. Citizen Kane, jeepers.
God this video sucks. It is very poor considering that this is her comeback single, would have thought they would have put more thought and preperation into it. There is no issues with the 80's melodrama, it is basically just very poorly constructed. Thankfully the song itself is quite gud, so all is not lost. Welcome back Kate.
It's nice, she's back, dont know what to say about the video, still enjoy the song ---
