meh.... it's better than the last 2 Weezer videos - but the directing is pretty weak. It's nicely structured and the idea isn't terrrible - but it gets bogged down w/ the big sets and cinematic look. I could see this being much more successful with a raw, dozens-of-locations style like the "Steppin Off" video.

And has anyone seen that Gondry pitch for "Dope Nose" that the band rejected? (It's in the booklet for his Directors Label DVD) - I feel like I'm never going to be able to give these guys and slack when it comes to videos again. What a waste.

Man what happened? Weezer used to be one of my favourate bands.
What a shit video. Hot chicks bouncing around? They're no better than Ashley Simpson or Avril at this point.
If only they had all just died in a bus crash after Pinkertin.

         

Ugh nail in the coffin. I liked "Drugs", "Beverly" was okay, but this one.. I wish them well in their personal lives, they gave us plenty of good music & vids to remember, which is a lot better than most.

well the idea was kind of cute.

and it unfolded clearly and nicely.

i guess it's lame because it's just plain half retarded?

to make this idea work they should have gone MUCH further... like how the band had costumes as "weeze" - that should have been much funnier. maybe they were a kiss-style glam band? the change should have been bigger and that would have made the "weeze" section have more comical potential.

whatever. weezer's biggest crime is making me think this hard about this video because the song is so awful.

         

agreed w/ cap'nmarc: the rejection of the "dope nose" treatment objectively disqualifies them. they've been pointless for years.

         

they have taken the"We are nerds" thing way too far. it feels like it's serious.
