Norisiam-X "NO GOOD (dame dame)" directed by DaDa KingZ
Hello all,
This is my first post here. Our video for Daedelus's "Just Briefly" was in RESfest this year (and I believe linked on antville somewhere), but some may be curious to see a more recent piece. This is one we did for a local (Tokyo) lady rapper Norisiam-X (no relation to Terminator).
This link is from a .mac page and may take a little to load as its .mac and the file is about 30mb. (I'll try to replace the file with a smaller file later on, sorry for the hassle)
Cheers! -b
Hey chromafresh, welcome aboard.
I really dig the animation style you used here. Can I say it's "totally cool!"? (giving peace sign with both hands, grinning)
What's she rapping about, though? That would help me 'get' the vid.
I'm looking forward to another vid from you (how many are you?)
Hey thanks for the comment! :)
I do a small motion graphics/animation/production outfit here in Tokyo with a staff of three right now but the video is directed by me and a partner I VJ with. For what its worth we've been directing and VJing as "DaDa KingZ" out here for about a year, but both have been doing music vids on our own off and on for a few years.
The rap is about two girls who are unlucky in love and is giving them advice on handling their business better.
Welcome, chromafresh. I really love the composited animation scenes here.
Coincedentally, I wonder if you could help me out - I am trying to find online videos for a Japanese band not many Americans know named Supercar, specifically videos for White Surf Style No. 5 and Recreation. Do you have any idea where I could find them, perhaps on a Japanese site, to share here?
There are some bad video streams on the supercar site, but I think I saw 'White Surf Style No. 5' show up online in some random place before. Google and my memory were of no use though. The video is credited to a creative agency called Tugboat, if that helps.
Basically "what he said." Plus just that Japanese record company sites are notorious about having really difficult to access streams for music videos and production companies aren't proactive about promoting on the net. I looked around a bit myself some years ago without too much luck. Tugboat doesn't seem to have an active site, either which is odd because they're a well known local agency. Supercar had some unique ones when they were still together!
Hi Chromafresh--I love the video! I produce a new alternative music video service called Rawdio (you can find out more about it at TVTonic.com). I'd like to add your vid...can you please email me at aanderson@wavexpress.com? I can give you our address...and tell you more about the channel. Thanks! Andy
