Rogue Wave "Publish My Love" dir. Matt Lenski
Bad copyright law obstructing justice again (see comments)
wow that was shit...it's sad that such a great band gets such a boring uninspired video..blah!
good videostatic writeup on this. I know these things are low budget but wow what a lapse in judgement (re: copyrights)...
director's cut is better but man the singer looks REALLY bored and/or stoned.
ahh too much happening and lame idea, "oh publish my love lets have the band play in books... yeah! with heaps of flashing graphics"
lame music, lame video.
I heard that photoshop and after effects directed this
i liked it, i like videos that have that 'graphic artsy' feel. i know they've been done before blah blah, but i think that they take a great deal of work to create. having all the graphic elements work well with eachother takes a great deal of thought.
Yo Check out the director's cut... before the fucking lawyers got there greasy paws on it: www.rhfilms.com under Matt Lenski
saw your original cut (here).
the flipping pages device is really pretty cool. it seems like an interesting way to tell a story in a thousand blips, and a nice revisitation of/reflection on what books are. (would have much preferred the performance to be left off them...)
can the legal misadventure be told?
i find it ridiculous that anyone would have a foot to stand on to claim against this usage (but also surprising that such a problem wasn't legally scoped beforehand...)
