there are some really nice shots in this but the story is forced, the mom is awkward and the dude in the suit is stupid, could be good re cut without the story and the cliche shots like, "i'm on the phone" and she's on the phone
not sure i agree. i think you're trying to upgrade this beyond its true nature. yes the story is forced (to me the ending in laughter is virtually incomprehensible, unless it's meant to imply madness, which i hope it's not.) and the mom's a mom, not an actress.
only change i'd have suggested would have been to avoid show the mortician's gloves so early on.
but for the rest, try looking at it as something from somewhere just slightly to one side of the general music video circuit.
progosk your probably right about the upgrade, I just felt like there where glimmers of gold in this and if it were more subtle it could have been great. I know the mom is a mom and not an actor but she is still playing a role and it is painstakingly obvious, thats the point, cut more of her scenes. the laughter was totally implying madness i think, as in people treat this war as a joke but people are dying, slap in the face to that, I don't mind that idea but it didn't work like the rest of the story.
