i wish this'd been played more to the creepy. jamie sloshed/notreallygivingafuck makes the whole thing a bit humdrum.
That's exactly what I liked! It made me think that this happens to Jamie all the time.
becomes really good once you make it past the never-ending 1st minute.
Something kinda cool about the vid, cant quite put my finger on it though. I also was craving it to get creepier, but I think if it went more creepy, it really would not have fit the song...but then again, Im not sure it totally does now either...?
the original edit/concept was a 'one-taker' apparently with a few deliberate camera on/off cuts....that was until the pesky record company got involved...
Maybe an example of a talented director getting the "we've seen you do much better so we'll let this slide" pass? I really dig the song though.
Is it a coincidence that Nima used an odd little person in Salvador too? or is this the beginning of a motif like Spike Jonze with dogs?
i think it's a good video.
Could use some minor tweaking, but overall it's a great vid. Very rewatchable, which is a rarity.
I hope Nima can post the one-take version somewhere. I'd love to see more of this..
wow if it wasn't for fellow antvillers comments i wouldn't have gone back to watch this and get past the first minute. that first minute is deceptive. shame on me for wanting immediate impact, but it needs a little work. after that though it's fun.
