Frausdots: Dead Wrong
Here's a video for Sub Pop band Frausdots, featuring the bassist from Beachwood Sparks and Further. It was shot in 24p and assembled in After Effects. Production design was inspired by a japanese coffee table book about Esprit clothing stores from the 80s.
Posted twice. Is this a different version?
quite good. it's nice to see an after effects clip that doesn't have ADD.
i posted it earlier, but removed it because i couldn't get the screenshot to load. sorry to confuse anyone.
this is nice. the design is compelling. but i often wonder how much more impact videos like these would have if they had the slighest narrative development intertwined with the design. not a story in the usual sense, but some kind of tension and development going on.
thanks for the comment on the design. i guess it's getting cliche but since the video was in an 80s style to match the track, i thought i'd pay homage to the {performance/wtf random imagery} format of the decade. i'll be posting a new video in the next day or so that's animated narrative/performance so i look forward to hearing if i managed it better. also, let me make a plug for this band. i sought them out to do the video because i love this album. please check out their record, 'couture, couture, couture.'
did you do all the compositing roboshobo? again, it looks great and best of all shows restraint. and yeah the song rocks. i directed the 'night on fire' video for vhs or beta.
yeah. i used shake and some nifty macros that a friend set up for keying dv. the vhs or beta video looks rad as fuck. what was it shot on? roboshobo@yahoo.com
