Afro Celt Sound Systems feat. Peter Gabriel "when you're falling" Dir: Adam Berg
that's really funny.
dir. Adam Berg - where'd he go?
that was cool bar a few gnarly green spill shots, Peter Gabrielle rules it was his old videos that made me start paying attention to music videos when I was young.
He's still at Stink...
There are some very redeeming qualities in the piece, but I feel that it could have been much stronger if...
a) The main character would have appeared in a more dynamic fashion rather than simply exhibiting one constant emotion.
b) The collision with the ground is a pivotal moment in the shift of the expectation of the viewer, yet, is placed arbitrarily in the structure of the song. Placing it at some semblance of a crescendo would have been much more effective
c) poor casting can be just as distracting if not moreso than bad compositing
which brings me to d) I was actually fairly impressed by the compositing, and while it fell short in a few specific areas, I believe to focus on these moments of the film would be to take advantage of the very nature of the subject matter inherent in the piece.
Overall, my expectations were shifted multiple times, and ended on an interesting note...
kev, thx for the director -have no idea where he went -
peter gabriel proves you never die
sweet flying conclusion
