Yes, I hate a lot of video formats, but sometimes its the only way of watching some videos.

The problem with youtube is the embedding thing. The previsualization sucks. I prefer a image link or a text link explainig what am I gonna see.

What program do you use to play .flvs? Don't they look just as shitty even when downloaded?

I think google video is a slightly less annoying alternative. Maybe if they implemented some of those "community" aspects and made uploading less convoluted, it could one day be as popular?

         

latest problem: mac os 10.3.9/ff 1.5.0.1 doesn't load youtube videos anymore (safari still does) anybody else have this happen?

         

I still use os 9.2.1, and the youtubevideo load, if they load at all, very very VERY slow. I gave up watching them.

OK, enough with this Youtube bashing, IMHO this is the best thing on the internet, since p2p networks appeared. I have searched for some videos on the net for ages without no result at all, and suddenly Youtube appeared, offering nearly all of them in an acceptable quality. Yes, acceptable, it's way better than nothing. And btw, use the freeware Riva Encoder to make the .flv's to MPEG-1s. It does the encoding job in 1 minute (no joke!)and jaws will be dropped after some results, yet some of the vids are really pants in quality.

         

feed youtube (and googlevid, etc etc) urls into keepvid to get the direct/deep links; then use those in your antville posts. thx.
