I don't understand why everyone gives these two such grief... yeah their work is totally amateur, but so is heaps of the stuff on this site.

Even if you don't like it from a stylistic perspective, at least get a laugh out of it one way or another (and by that I mean either "funny haha" or "funny wtf").

I find their site to be extremely amusing, the mulberry commons stuff is pretty funny. These two are just having fun, keep it coming michael.
         
i'm sure it's the funniest thing in the world to their group of friends. but they just don't know how to connect with an audience. worse than being not funny is the fact all these things are horribly boring.

No doubt. We need art for a single moment. Watch it and forget it. And I don´t have any problems with crappy looking videos. But.......Where is the idea? And with our contributions everyone should try to hold here a certain level of quality. In form an content....At least in content.

i thought that those vidoes are quite inventive, i like the minimalist approach! after spending some time reading comments here i more and more get the impression quite a few from the general audience on this site enjoy insulting people posting to this blog - or just one another if there is no one else to put down. if you want to build some kind of creative community than this is not a good idea. but maybe anything beyond mtv is too hard to understand for some at this point.

I think the idea is that, constructive critisism is a healthy part of antvilles community.

I would compair it to having somthing in your teeth, its embarrising when someone points it out, but its for the greater good... and you will grow from it in the end.

if anything here is YouTube.com like than certainly not the videos posted, but maybe the quality of some of the comments made. it's an online phenomenon that a lot of people are extremely rude when posting a comment, they write stuff they would never say to anyone when looking into their eyes.

but do as you wish. just keep waiting for people to post videos and then tell them "YouTube.com is a better forum for you...." and "most videos ARE crap". you'll be creating yourself not just a zoo with lots of wild animals, but an ancient rom like arena...

I know. You have good intentions. But do you think it´s constructive critism to call this three videos "inventive" ? What is the meaning of inventive? OK, the decision if something is inventive or redundant depents on skills in media.(right? My Enlish. Such a shame) And thats the point.

Occasionally people post things that arent music videos but they generally have something special, groundbreaking or beautiful about them relevant to the art of the moving image.

I don't mind you being here, Michael. But i have to be honest, I don't like any of your stuff. I think it's already been noted that Amanda is very attractive, but beyond that I really can't watch these. Just my view.

i don't think everything you have posted has strictly been a music video.

videos can be "lo-fi" or they can be spec, but making a little movie set to a silly song you wrote with your friend is NOT a music video. it's a musical short film.

some videos CAN be made by the musician, but it always works best when it adds something new to the song - just singing the song dressed as a woman in front of your camcorder is not adding anything.

ALSO, another thing that makes your posts so annoyning is all the pictures and/or text.

in conclusion, stop posting!

These aren't music videos, however. They're sketches. I will refrain from commenting on quality because I've barely watched these but honestly they're shot and cut like home movies.

If we were to extend musical videos via connection of the performer, woudn't that mean that we could post entire episodes of General Hospital because Rick Springfield was in it?

I mean sure, for those who care, I don't mind if these are up here ultimately, but the link to what antville is for most of us who use it - speciously tenuous at best.

At the least please resize the pictures. Amanda may be insanely cute, but I don't need wallpaper sized pictures of her. Thus far.

when i saw the hand video, i thought huh weird, but fine. and i thought it was somewhat interesting and kinda quirky. then i saw all the horrible comments, and felt really bad for you and decided to check out your site. that's when i noticed that i've seen your videos and they always make me feel uncomfortable. i think they try to hard to be ironic and the imagery is very unpleasant, not to mention the obvious over-acting that isn't funny. but then a gain, i'm not a huge sketch-type comedy fan. but i felt bad for thinking that because everyones work should be encouraged, although i do alot of dissing here, but mostly with somewhat established inflated head directors. anyways, i always try to be supportive of people doing something they love. cause god i know if i posted my stuff here, i would get ripped to shreds. and thats fine, that's why i'll never post here. my self-confidence is bad enough. but there is always the chance that posting here will lead to some insightful information that will help you grow as an artist. i know that i have learned alot here.
