Go into the film with patience, appreciation for minimalism and 41 minutes of silence and you'll be entranced. There's a storyline, too.
I-yaaaa! Hypnotic. I wish it was shot on super 8 though. -j
i'm only a third of the way through, but i really like this sort of conceptual stuff. it's like repeating a word over and over until it loses its meaning, so that then you can listen to it in new ways.
i'd suggest cross-posting it to shortsville, too.
Yeah, I like this stuff too. It must require patience in the editing room, too, huh? And a big budget for pink balloons ;)
I couldn't get into it. I got bored. :)
Loved the girl jumping and good ending (xmas tree was a little obvious though, sorry)
The more I watched the more I was reminded of some of Steina & Woody Vasulka's work I'd seen - especially the duckies and the jumping. fwiw: I'm by no means at all an expert on video art.
Have you sent this to Nobukazu?
thanks for these posts. i really like the film, though i've only watched a few minutes of it and skipped through the scenes.
kevathens, thanks for that great link. i'm all about the stuff on there. if i weren't so afraid of being shred into pieces i would post some of my thesis films because they are in the same vain (much less technical and less stimulating).
sound and visual nuance is inspiring and something i would like to pursue more in the future. please keep posting these types of things.
