Here we go again with the similarities...
When will people ever get over the fact that dollar bills get passed around? At least add something new to the genre. Show us some interesting characters or novel uses for the bill. Or try to take us on a narrative journey. The best this guy can come up with is rolling the bill up to snort some coke.
True this type of "cause and effect" scenario has been seen many times before. It's a bit of a cop out really, without showing the singer its easy to cut because... PHHWOOAARRRRR TITS!!!
Here are some other first term film student ideas that you might want to investigate... The guy who wakes up after a one night stand to discover his mirror has "YOU HAVE AIDS" written on it! The homeless guy who discovers he can do something magical! The obviously there isn't much of an idea but we managed to convince an actress to appear nude for the art of filmmaking so we're going to put it in for no good reason student short... Oh wait a minute, back where we started.
There was this killer clip for a British bands years ago, can't recall the name or anything, where it looked like they had staged an illegal dumping of the video's budget down onto commuters in the a.m. at one of the big London train stations, shot on DV. Wish I could recall. That was a good shock money idea.
