Outkast - B.O.B. - Directed by Dave Meyers
An amazing blast of energy. Just try and sit still while watching the (unfortunately low-fi) video. Freaky mask dancing women, scary monkeys and green streets. QT Here is the video on YouTube. Also see the treatment.
here we go again....
actually as I said I really love this video. Once got into an argument of the merits and the other person said "All he did was make the grass purple. There's no talent in that!"
I disagree.
The Ms. Jackson video was also excellent. F. Gary Gray at that point was doing features and this was one of the few videos he did at the time.
here's the video in quicktime:
and captain marc, here's the ms. jackson in quicktime:
pretty compelling madness, and played so straight-faced, almost in earnest. (but the ms. jackson's kinda dumb.)
YES! Don't equate unwillingness to do anything in-camera with a lack of talent. Everyone's putting their fucking all into this vid. This is a gd event!
Honestly, I don't think OutKast have topped this. I think this was Dave's first time at color-shifting, and they nailed it. It's absolutely appropriate with the song.
here are your mother fucking stills
I updated your page too
btw: are these treatments really treatments? coz they sure read like they're written post hoc...
yes, that is the real treatment.
One of the best
