Talk Talk - "Such a shame"
Without doubt one of the greatest bands of the eighties…and one of the greatest songs from that period as well.

i don't understand this video. i mean, this fellow seems to be enjoying himself here. and it appears that he might be an actual human being as well. and it seems that he is trying to express some kind of....what do you call it....like a sensual impression of being alive....uh....uh.....feeling?
what rubbish!
Whoa this takes me back. Without doubt one of the greatest bands, ever.
I had a VHS collection of their videos when I was a lad. I think it was the only tape I had like that. If I recall, Tim Pope did a lot of these?
No one can classify Laughing Stock or Spirit of Eden.
Even the songs from this album still half mired in their early synth pop are incredible.
If I recall correctly the song and video were inspired by Luke Reinhart's "The Diceman" - a novel about a man who starts living his life by letting rolls of dice determine how he should behave in any given situation.
Tim Pope did 'Life's what you make it' 'Dum Dum Girl' 'Living in Another World' 'It's My Life' & 'I believe in You' I think.
I'm not sure this is one of the best, but I love the fact that Mark Hollis is such an anti-pop star in this. Just a bunch of Kids from North London making some of the best music ever...
Anyone with a link to more of their videos?
Onesmallkreeger:
Found these...couldn't get them to work last night, but maybe you'll have more luck than I had:
many thanks Madsen. I haven't had any luck yet, but I'll try and hunt down the right software/drivers.
Anyone know where Mark Hollis is these days?
