Buddy Holly - Weezer (Director: Spike Jonze)
Weezer plays at the legendary "Al's Diner", and you know what happens? They create one hell of a good time (and video)!
Maybe its just me...but I find this video is kind of a ripoff of Spike Jonzes Buddy Holly vid.
This was nicely done.
Wow, this from the 50's? There sound is so current? Did this Spike Jones go on to do anything else? -j
Are you guys for real? Or is it just me?
Glayvin, this ís Spike Jonzes Buddy Holly video.
Jesse, this is weezer, they weren't even born in the fifties. And this is Spike Jonze, born in 1969, he made this video in 1995. www.palmpictures.com
/edit: and ofcourse: www.imdb.com
He made Being John Malkovich!
ripoff? this is clearly a homage to a video by spike jonze for weezer. admit it, pizza: did you direct this? it's a pretty good effort - though your post is shameless self-promotion...
is this a strange thunder of misunderstandings?
i think so...
Progosk, which video are you talking about?
spike jonze is the one dancing in the leather jacket. This is clearly a rip-off of that video for fat boy slim; the one outside the cinema which was made after this. . . buddy holly isn't even in this video.
The video is a rip off from a video for Holly Johnson directed by Spike Lee. It has been done in the late 50s.
I think this is a fine vid, well put together, nice enough song but MAN as progosk says it BITES spike jonze... he did a promo for some band with the exact same idea, treatment & even the songs nigh on identical. The label must have been sleeping to not spot that this is an OLD idea. The director even calls himself something similar - lame lame lame, guy needs to get his own show stop ripping mr Jonze.
post a video from the mid-90's and chaos insues! i want more mid-90's videos.
Pretty sure Adam Spiegel directed this. Awesome to see new material by him!
hahaha, you funny young ones!
erm.. jesseewles do you live in a cave....?
jeez, i guess americans don't get irony after all.... huub: these posts are dripping in sarcasm, silly!
man, sometimes i really hate the internet
