you know something? the various little scenes of people in/around their rooms/houses/motel are really quite intriguing, and rather nicely shot/lit. (reminded me in some ways of this ramon bloomberg video.) the band, unfortunately, is the precise opposite: unwatchable themselves, and badly shot to boot.
try editing them out altogether. (you might even have to change the pretty hopeless track.) you might find yourselves with an interesting little piece of film.
I agree with progosk.
plus, the pickup truck sequence as a bookend makes you think you've just witnessed a chronological sequence of events. If this is the case, I have no idea what it is I just watched. If the 'story' is to be presented, it should be presented clearly (as in, what happened here), or dropped altogether.
Also, the whole couples arguing thing...it's pretty trite, and about as entertaining as watching a white trash couple argue could be...
