Klimt inspired animation
I feel like an ass for doing this, I apologize. Sincerely. I'd like to ask whether any of you know of any Gustav Klimt inspired music videos, or music videos that reference his stuff? Either animated or live action..or both. And while I'm at it, anyone know where I can download some of Oscar Fischinger work? Please, and thanks so much.
This is the closest thing I could think of:
It's not a music video, and it's not even that close.
Haven't watched the clip yet, still downloading, but a great link anyway, thanks!
on fisch: you've checked this videos.antville.org and in particular, this videos.antville.org right?
progosk: Shit, no. Pretty damn obvious..thank you - any klimtesque stuff that comes to mind? (Animation etc.)
on klimt: closest you'll find is mahiro maeda's gankutsuou (trailer, extract, article, pix) and some of yoshitaka amano's work (e.g. "angel's egg" on his site, french article).
Vielen, vielen dank..
Romanek's "Perfect Drug" video for NIN has some huge shout outs to a bunch of artists including Magritte, Klimpt, & Gorey.
can't watch the video there anymore but can look at stills.
Cool, thanks - got the video on the Director's Label DVD..
looking at art-work definitely Amano. Just look at this www.imagenetion.net Egon Schiele is an obvious one as he has been his student. Another modern one is comic book artist David Mack (Kabuki). And magic realist painter Michael Parkes has done some work in the Klimt style. Talking movies it gets a little bit harder. This comes to mind but isn't quite it I guess: www.twitchfilm.net
on schiele: peter chung's aeon flux & matriculated.
presumably hundertwasser's videos could be interesting for you, but they're in the most obsolete format ever: 1998 real player .viv! (apparently you can convert viv to something else on a pc with the super© freeware.)
(argh - 3d ocelot... i so hope he hasn't fluffed it...)
more lush stylings in bakeneko (hokusai goes art nouveau and does a horror anime). elfen lied is also very klimt. other suggestions of rich painterly animation (via ben): Frederick Back; Alexander Petrov; Caroline Leaf; Piotr Dumala's Crime and Punishment; a scene in Belladonna by Hayashi Seiichi.
the intro for Elfen lied! ofcourse, how could I have forgotten that, 100% Klimt.
Thanks (once again) guys..
