Flowered Up: Weekender (dir: WIZ)
An anonimous reader of my blog left this comment on the post about the Empire clip:
"Wiz is a pretty legendary promo director in the UK; His video for Flowered Up’s track Weekender really pushed the boundaries of the music video."
He also posted a link to the clip. A 17 (approx.) minutes long music video!
Enjoy! (Flash)
Download the FLV file. (You can watch and/or convert it with Videolan)
into the groove, lol. (interesting screenshot, dek.) 30mb flv here.

That's a good digest of the whole movie, for the attention span impaired.
mac alternatives (tho it works in vlc, too): watch it with the excellent flvlauncher; convert it with the free isquint.
There is a good deal of cultural significance to this song (a thinly veiled social commentary) and the accompanying video. This was a short-lived golden era.
All you weekenders take note.
Damn that's actually a pretty obnoxious song. The video is a little slow on the narrative side but awesome shot selection all the way through (although that sandwich POV was a bit much). There were plenty of nice little details in it to keep things interesting (like the sped-up rotating billboard). Between this and the empire video I've officially been sold on WIZ.
The song was, and still is brilliant.
W.I.Z.'s page on Videoville just got extensive updating by someone called The Whip Angel, with links to vids, etc, and a lot to see, really.
S/he got a prize from me.
Wiz is a visionary.."Weekender" was created long before any of the other trainspotting/ smack my bitch up portrayals of the drug experience on film appeared...and he even convinvced the record label to allow him to shoot to the 12", manipulate the sound, and create a 17-min. music film. Quite an accomplishment, what a lucky boy.
thanks for the props mr.K
WHIPANGEL: Where can I see "Baby"?
