Mlle Caro & Frank Garcia - Far Away Dir: Sarah Chatfield
just found this vid for Crosstown Rebels cool cats Mlle Caro & Frank Garcia - v beautiful, sexy and emotive vid without being gratuitous - not an easy thing to do...
This is really cool. simple, sexy.. nice.
Excellent. Sexy and trippy. It's exactly what i need in a music video. I love this, Ambiguous and daring.
yes nicely done. love the stuff outside. simple and engaging vid.
I really liked that - it had a really strong feel to it. Well shot / graded (loved the close up textures), and the pacing was spot on...
Oozes quality. Simple idea well executed. Edit/pacing was especially well done. Not enough videos made like this anymore. Nice one!
sparse but shiny&tight indeed.
Not sure I can make the best judgement of this unless I saw it on TV. Er, anyone know when that'll happen?
Its B-list (25 plays per week) on MTV Dance at the moment, but only after 10pm, in the UK....
Nice to see these do get played somewhere. Not in America, no doubt. (Except, perhaps, the IMF)
i know its one of ours and i know i commissioned it but really pretty damn good for £500
and for a cool record and on a very cool record label and on the b-list at mtv dance...
will stop gushing now
Sure, it's a minimal set / shoot, and sure it's all about the edit. But still that's a solid vid that represents the music well for £500. Nice one!
minor quibble: what would it have cost if everything/-body had been paid? not saying anyone was ripped off - i'd just be interested how the goodwill discount price measures up against a more objective production cost. or is there no such thing?
nobody gets paid on music videos anyway. the only thing this would have gained by having a big budget is a big pain in the ass from the label and band and commish!
anyways you can't even fart for 500 quid so David Bowie says this cost at least a little bit more.
regardless of the above bullshit and budget...
Sarah.. nice fucking job! really really spot on.
This gets 5 ziggy stardusts and a soul love!
-David
good vid, don't know about budgets but it looks great to me
I'd second the other opinions. Very nice.
To put the budget in context, £500 gets you a gaffer for a day or a digibeta camera kit, but not both.
Who produced?
sarah produced, directed and was dop so all round skills for doing the whole thing yourself albeit with the help of friends
she got £500 from the label and spent her bonus paying for the rest herself
they shot over two days in soho and on location using a HDV cam with the main favour coming from Jamie at the Mill who did a superb tk
lead lady amy perfect is her best friend and it helps to have someone hot who can really act in a dance video
its not about the cash - its about moving a career on in a difficult market and also doing something good for a cool label and great track
for the love of the music!
yay!
Dedication and grass roots film-making in action. Nice work.
who is the girl on video? do u have any idea, whats her name? is she a model?
she's an actress and a model, her name is amy perfect (yes, that's her real name). she's with Nevs.
